Get Back into the Swing of Things by Be Fit Dave
Hello, Hello!
It's Be Fit Dave again, trying to climb back on to the wagon, yet again. My how easy it is to get lazy when waiting for people to do work at your house! I spent about 2.5 weeks waiting for construction crews to do “whatever” and in that period of time fell in love with just "vegging" at the house before work.
Well the construction ended about 3 weeks ago and I am just getting back to the gym. There were a couple of things standing in my way...
1) Laziness, plain and simple. No way to rationalize it - I got VERY lazy!
2) Workout buddy. I seem to have lost mine and goodness knows what a drag it is to workout alone. Even though we both had our IPODs going and couldn't talk to each other it was nice to have someone there to go through the "torture" of a workout. Not to mention you can always keep an eye on each other to make sure nobody "cheats".
Anyway, I had my first workout today. A Personal Trainer, boot camp style workout. I had to give up about 40 minutes into it. I felt that if I had gone on any further they would be using the AED on me and that wouldn't be so good.
So, with all this babbling, I am hoping to get two things accomplished:
1) To make everyone aware that getting fit is not as easy as getting "unfit" was and it never will be. When you have a relapse or fall off the wagon, get right back to it as soon as you can. It's worth it in the end.
2) I'm looking for a new workout buddy. I work 3-11 and like to work out in the AM before work and then enjoy the pool after. I do cardio, strength training and my new favorite is Boot Camp. If anyone reading this is looking for a workout buddy and fits this schedule please get back to me and let's get together for a workout sometime.
Good luck to all who have chosen to get fit again!
